Yesterday morning was perfect to open the window and read a book. The chirps outside reminded me of the birds in Austin (except, of course, the grackles) on many similar mornings. I began day dreaming of slow Texas mornings, about mid spring when it's rained the night before and the world seems all anew. Through the bedroom window of my last house there I would watch the birds eating bugs in my yard. Sometimes a squirrel would be barking too. Occasionally I see those moments here, but they never feel quite the same. At least Oakland has squirrels. Unlike San Francisco, which is a strangely squirrel less place.

This is beautiful I get lost in your thoughts. Sometimes I think what you would sound like with a classic country twang beat behind the words you speak.
ReplyDeleteI know the days you speak of and I can not wait for them to get here! It's been surprisingly cold here in Austin all winter. I'm ready for flip flops and honeysuckle.
